KEFIR – der Trank der Hundertjährigen

Der Milchkefir, auch als "Milchchampagner" oder "Tibetanischer Pilz" bezeichnet, ist ein Getränk, welches seine Wurzeln in Asien, vermutlich Russland hat.

Kefir ist ein erfrischendes, probiotisches Getränk mit einer dicklichen cremigen Konsistenz und einem säuerlich erfrischenden, leicht hefigem Geschmack. Entstehen tut es durch die Fermentation von Milch. Dies geschieht mithilfe von unseren Kefirknollen. Dabei handelt es sich um eine natürliche Zusammensetzung aus Hefen und Bakterien in symbiotischer Gemeinschaft. Diese kleinen Mikroorganismen verstoffwechseln Bestandteile der Milch.
Geschmacklich erinnert das Getränk an Ayran oder Buttermilch. Die natürlich entstehende Kohlensäure sorgt für ein perlendes, moussierendes Geschmackserlebnis.

Das selber machen lohnt sich übrigens schon nach kurzer Zeit: Die Kefirkultur vermehrt sich nämlich immer weiter. Außerdem schmeckt der eigene Milchkefir viel frischer, ist preiswerter und lebendiger als Fertiggetränke aus dem Supermarktregal. Und: Kefir hat unendlich viele Gesichter. Our dogs hurt their mouths chewing these bones

I don't do a lot of reviews because I realize many are objective opinions. However, in this case I felt it was necessary to warn others. Our dogs are aggressive chewers. Their last rubber bones (not these) which we've purchased before, and recently purchased again, were destroyed quickly. Chunks of rubber came off the ends. Since those didn't hold up like they used to, I found these harder bones hoping they would last longer. They were able to gnaw into the hard plastic within a few minutes. This created sharp edges that cut their mouths. When I saw a bit of blood on the bones, I took them away from the dogs and threw them away. I wondered why they quit chewing on them after being so excited at first. Also, these are hard enough to damage a tooth.
